A letter from Dr Aafia Siddiqui and Algerian kidnappers demand release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui

A letter from Dr Aafia Siddiqui

“My Dead Nation”

Lauren Booth speaking at protest against Aafia Siddiqui’s sentence London 23.09.2012

Rare Footage of Dr Aafia Siddique

Aafia Siddiqui; PhD. Doctor and an MIT graduate, originally from Karachi disappeared in 2003 and mysteriously resurfaced in US custody in 2008. She was convicted in February 2010 in a Manhattan courtroom for attempted murder and armed assault, having allegedly shot at soldiers who were guarding her in custody. What is the truth behind this story? Who is Prisoner 650?

Included are comments from renowned British journalist Yvonne Ridley and Dr. Aafia’s own sister, Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, a Harvard-trained neurologist.

My name is Dr. Aafia educated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) with three children and aim of helping my nation with my high class education is very pleased from your help.

I was kidnapped from my own country by my brothers and sold to America. I was brutally treated, raped, tortured, again and again given name prisoner 650.

I prayed for my Muhammad Bin Qasim for every second of my years in prison in a Muslim country Afghanistan.

I am sister of 1/5 world’s Muslim population . My nation is historically famous in defending and protecting their citizens right from the beginning. Hazrat Omar (RA) Said, if a dog dies near river Arafat, Omar will be responsible on day of judgment.

At the moment I can’t walk on my own, one kidney is removed, bullet wound in my chest, denied any medical and legal aid and not sure whether I will be alive or not.

I would like to revoke my status of sister. I am a proud Muslim, follower of Hazrat Muhammad SAW, daughter of Hazrat Abubakar, Hazrat Umar, Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Ali and Companions and their true followers. I don’t want to be your sister.

They are my protectors and I will seek Allah’s help not yours.

I don’t want to be Pakistani who has 600,000 troops and special force SSG but fail to protect me, they sworn to protect me but refused when I was looking at them for help.

My so called Muslim Ummah having millions of soldiers, guns, tanks. Automatic weapons fighter plans, submarines and yet they failed to save me. Don’t worry about day of judgment you won’t be answerable as you are not my

brothers in Islam. You are Arabic, Persian, Palestinians, African, Malaysian, Indonesian, South Asian but not Muslims.

I am sorry if hurts you but you can’t imagine how hurt I am.’

Aafia Siddiqui

Recently :Algerian kidnappers demand release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui

By Yvonne Ridley

THE only thing that surprised me when I heard that the Algerian kidnappers had called for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui was that it hadn’t happened sooner.
Don’t get me wrong, as a former hostage myself, there is no way I condone the actions of what has unfolded in a remote corner of the Algerian desert.
And my heart goes out to the families of those who have lost loved ones in the unfolding drama at the In Amenas gas plant siege said to have been masterminded by Mohktar Belmokhtar. The infamous one-eyed Algerian militant apparently with ties to al Qaida, has claimed responsibility for launching Wednesday’s attack.
It also goes without saying there is no way the kidnappers, whether politically or criminally motivated, can be justified in their actions.
But an injustice is an injustice and as the only western journalist to have specifically gone to Afghanistan to investigate the case of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, I have to say her plight has become a cause célèbre around the Muslim world.
And I have an uncomfortable feeling that more and more westerners will be kidnapped as their captors demand the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, a woman I once called the most wronged in the world.
So just who is Dr Aafia Siddiqui and why is a group of North Africans calling for her release?
Well it’s very easy to get emotional about a wronged Muslim woman caught up in the War on Terror but I am not basing my case on emotion just some simple cold, hard facts and forensic evidence … or lack of it, but more of that and her bizarre story later.
Her family will certainly not be pleased that a group of Algerian terrorists have called for her release because it will give a perception in some quarters that Dr Aafia must be an Islamic extremist. It’s a narrative pushed by US intelligence although it has to be said in her trial the opening statement of the prosecutor stated quite clearly that she was not al-Qaida nor a terrorist sympathiser.
The case of the mother-of-three is well known in every household in Pakistan from the most religious to the most secular … the majority of which have been demanding her repatriation for years. Now she is known as the Daughter of the Nation although her story has travelled well beyond Pakistan’s borders.
Thousands of Muslim children have been named after her because of all that she has come to symbolise. Everything that she represents stems from the injustices created by America’s War on Terror … the kidnaps, renditions, torture, rape and waterboarding.
The brilliant academic, a neuro scientist, educated in top US universities, is tonight languishing in a Texan jail serving an 86 year sentence after being found guilty of trying to kill American soldiers.
The fact they shot her at close range and nearly killed her is often overlooked.
To their eternal shame, the US soldiers serving in Afghanistan claimed in court under oath that the diminutive, fragile academic leapt at them from behind a prison cell curtain, snatching one of their guns to shoot and kill them. It was a fabricated story that any defence lawyer worth his or her salt would have ripped apart at the seams.
The scenario painted in court was incredulous and more importantly, the evidence non existent – no gunshot residue on her hands or clothes, no bullets from the discharged gun, no fingerprints belonging to Dr Aafia on the gun … other vital evidence removed by US military from the scene went missing before the trial. Come on, we’ve all seen episodes of CSI – the science doesn’t lie.
After being patched up in a medical wing in Bagram, she was then renditioned to America to stand trial for an alleged crime committed in Afghanistan. Flouting the Vienna and Geneva Conventions, she wasn’t given consular access until the day she made her first court appearance.
The trial was held in New York, a stone’s throw from where the Twin Towers once stood making it impossible not to invoke the memories of that horrific day on September 11 which for some forever turned Muslims into Public Enemy Number One.
A lack lustre legal team forced on Dr Aafia by the US authorities failed to sway the jury of her innocence, despite the overwhelming scientific evidence that she could not have snatched a soldier’s gun let alone pull the trigger.
I went into the cell in Ghazni a few weeks after the shooting in July 2008 and discovered that the soldiers had panicked and sprayed the room with bullets as they struggled to flee. The evidence is there on film shot during my visit and handed over to the defence team.
The prosecutors could not believe a western journalist had travelled to this part of Afghanistan and obtained compelling witness and visual evidence. Soon after that vital forensic evidence including spent bullets that had been gouged out of a wall in the cell, went missing.
Seeing Dr Aafia emerge unshackled and unhooded from behind a curtain caused blind panic among the young soldiers who had been briefed by the FBI they were going to arrest one of the most dangerous women in the world.
I interviewed eyewitnesses, senior Afghan police officers and one after another told me their acount of what happened. Yet the only Afghan brought to court to give testimony against her was the FBI’s translator who now has a green card and lives in New York with his family.
What the jury was not told is that Dr Aafia, and her three children, all aged under five at the time, had been kidnapped from a street near their home in Karachi and disappeared from 2003.
The FBI put out a story at the time that she had in fact gone on a jihad to Afghanistan – it was a ludicrous tale without foundation and, as every mother of young children knows, a journey to the local corner shop with toddlers is a monumental challenge so heading off to fight in Afghanistan with a pram, pushchair and toddler in hand is simply inconceivable. The FBI narrative was destroyed by Boston-based Elaine Whitfield Sharp, a lawyer hired by the Siddiqui family when Dr Aafia first disappeared.
The missing years of the academic’s life reveal a story which is now known to virtually everyone in the Muslim world where she is widely regarded as a victim of George W Bush’s War on Terror.
As she tried to tell the jury how she was held in secret prisons, with no legal representation, cut off from the outside world since 2003 where brutal interrogation techniques were used to break her down, she was silenced by the judge who said he was only interested in the cell shooting incident.
Judge Richard Berman, a modest little man with much to be modest about, insisted he was not interested in the missing years; it had no relevance to the case he insisted.
She testified that after completing her doctorate studies she taught in a school, and that her interest was in cultivating the capabilities of dyslexic and other special needs children. She emerged as a humanity-loving nurturer and educator, the gentle yet resolute seeker for truth and justice.
As the evidence continued we learned that she didn’t know where her three children were – it was sensational content for those who knew the real story. She talked of her dread and fear of being handed back to the Americans when she was arrested in Ghazni and was held by police.
Terrified that yet another secret prison was waiting for her she revealed how she peeked through the curtain divider into the part of the room where Afghans and Americans were talking, and how when a startled American soldier noticed her, he jumped up and yelled that the prisoner was loose, and shot her in the stomach. She described how she was also shot in the side by a second person. She also described how after falling back onto the bed in the room, she was violently thrown to the floor and lost consciousness. This ties in exactly with what I was told by the counter terrorism police chief I interviewed in Afghanistan back in the autumn of 2008 – I remember him laughing as he told me how the US soldiers panicked, shot randomly in the air as they stampeded out of the room in a blind panic.
Of course there’s no way a bunch of soldiers are going to admit they lost it, but according to those I interviewed for my film In search of Prisoner 650 in Afghanistan that’s exactly what happened.
Two of her missing children have since been found and reunited with their extended family in Karachi. It is still not clear where the children were held when they were snatched from a street in Karachi but there’s no disguising their American accents … possibly picked up from their jailers.
So why did the FBI want to speak to Dr Aafia in the first place and why did they portray her as a dangerous terrorist on the run? if she was the person they painted why wasn’t she charged with terrorism offences and why was the prosecutor at pains to point out that she was not al Qaida?
One person who might hold the key is Dr Aafia’s ex-husband who has resisted attempts to be interviewed by me. He was going through a very combative and bitter divorce in the months before she disappeared. He first came to the attention of the FBI in 2002 when he was living in America but what he told them that would lead them to suspect his ex-wife of wrongdoing is anyone’s guess.
Who snatched Dr Aafia and her children? I don’t know, but I have also tracked down several ex-Bagram detainees who told me they saw Dr Aafia being held in Bagram in 2005 and gave a positive identity of her by photographs before her kidnap and after her arrest in Ghazni.
The bottom line is Dr Aafia Siddiqui should not be in prison and as long as this injustice continues she will become a rallying call for anyone who wants to pick a fight with America.
Acknowledging the injustice and returning Dr Aafia to her home in Pakistan will not stop extremists from causing terror, but it might make the lives of US citizens a lot safer if this wrong is put to right.

Water and Dams and Power issues

Thank you very much Tariq Mian for correcting me:)

Just a view of local news papers as let his to judiciary to eradicate the dishonesty and bring culprit behind the bars or show to nation who is who and who did what:

Its a need of hour to show the real face of people who are sitting and enjoying the taxes of Pakistan for nothing in return even this the very first part of the oath to be honest with their job. But what really going on ?

Most of the people are really really not working at all for any common good other than their own good and personal benefits along the tenure. How long we will be a silent observer or I will say spectators of Wonderland of Pakistan. None of us gonna speak and few are if speaking do not appreciate them as they are part of some conspiracy theories lols 🙂

This World is wonderful place with people do not follow the obvious and follow the falsehood and later give a perfect statement this is conspiracy theory. And if you do not want anyone to talk about something put a single dot or point it out as suspecious incident or event and if someone start to find out truth:

A Common fashion is adopted:

Are you mad or what?

Nothing gonna change?

Are you Really Insane?

Are you nuts?

What gonna change if you really find the truth and shared?

Listen : and listen it very clearly :

Its not and never about them or anyone its belong to us and its a very rightful and very first right of human being to speak truth and share truth and read truth and strive for truth. eventually rest will be synchronize and get stable and up to mark in even a longer run.

So lets not be so simple and lets do not make our home a home of conspiracy theories and being responsible citizen or nation: if someone is not doing anything just begin it from you. as this is the last resort of any matter as well the very first resort too. Its a matter of understanding and really matter to take part and read and write about. A Change only comes when you wish or strive for it. Change or Truth comes from us. Either its any part or walk of life.

Either its issue of Water Board or WAPDA or SUI GAS or anyother Department or monopoly of PTCL or education system or religions aspects. We can do a lot and we make a change as the only thing that changed or bad effected is :

The way people start thinking and acting

This is the very first ground the made so firm as our thinking process is deeply and unfortuanetly changed as we are no more effective in many ways either its education perspective or issue of water or a simple election participation or issue of social media and social culture or norms. Though individuals are becoming benchmarks with the passage of time. We are really so diverse in ways and things we have right in this country. Everybit is in our favor the only missing ingredients is The Muslim Of Quran or Life of Muhammad PBUH or ME of Iqbal or with times that conception came to be followed by us.

In this world everyone by nature is good and willing to do good. The only matter to bring a change is the very first step or the spark of faith right in your heart that can bring this nation or this world to a better place. Why not we keep try and why we do not strive to excel, its not about positions or grades but a matter called Wisdom the vital ingredient given to mankind by scriptures and words for God in all times.

How long we will be spectators or one the other end who see like a tv. all actions and all motivation could be seen on the other side not the side you own. Be Really You and be the Really You and the one the Creator want you to be. No matter how long you following the paths or no direction at last resort you have to fall or reach or touch the Only Straight Path to God. Choice is yours talk a hundred of years to drive to this path or take the very first step to be on path and start speaking Truth. What we really fear from the Creator or unfortunately People or societies or norms or world. Come on. Follow the belief or faith you say with all words Read Surrah Faitha and your life will be easy the day you understand its meaning and they day you understand the Faith you will eventually connected to God for all activities or actions or events or line of fates or paths and before and after of everything thing that exist or do not exist in matter and understanding of us.

So Live a life with Nature Gift Called Purpose with Actions for TRUTH.

According to the probe report received by Dunya News, ex-Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah remained mum over contentious Nimo Bazgo hydropower project on Indus river for four years despite being aware about it.The probe committee recorded the statements of Indus Water Commissioner Sheraz memon, Deputy Indus Water Commissioner Faris Qazi and former Joint Commissioner Tahir Waseem. Only verbal statement of Jamaat Ali Shah wasrecorded.Jammat Ali Shah was accused of keeping the government into dark regarding controversial Mino Bazgo Dam project despite of reports of Military Intelligence and Inter Services Intelligence and help India to get Carbon Credit Certificate from United Nations. Shah also refrained from taking the matter into International Court of Arbitration despite of government directions.

Jihadi periodical Jamaatud Dawa newspaper Jarrar (5 March 2010) reported that the people of Pakistan thought that Pakistan’s Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah was bodily a Pakistani but his tongue spoke the language of Hindus. He had not stopped making the strange statement (darfuntani) that India had not stolen Pakistan’s water. Jamaat Ali Shah was getting his salary from Pakistan but working for India, the paper said.

Unfortunately, Jamaatud Dawa took out a procession on Lahore’s central mall in February 2010, its leader Hafiz Said making provocative speeches. Later the Chief of the Army Staff and the Prime of Pakistan also raised ‘the issue of waters’ in their statements.

Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (3 June 2010) a seminar held by Nawa-e-Waqt Group of newspapers decided that Pakistan’s Indus Waters Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah was no longer speaking for Pakistan but was defending the Indian position on the stealing of river waters by India through 62 dams. Speakers including such “illustrious” men as Ambassador (Retd) Javed Hussain who said that India was stealing one crore forty acre feet of water and that the Indus Water Treaty was only good for the 1960s but today India’s water aggression could lead to an Indo-Pak war that would soon turn into a nuclear world war.

Nawa-e-Waqt further reported that Indus Waters Treaty Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah, while leaving for New Delhi to talk about waters shared by India and Pakistan, said that Pakistan was getting its share of waters under the Indus Treaty and that building a dam was the right of India. He said less water in Pakistani rivers was because of lack of rain, not because India had blocked it. The statement was a shock to many who thought India was waging a water war against Pakistan.

Quoted in Jang, Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah said in Lahore that Indus Water Treaty between Pakistan and India was an unhappy marriage over the years. He said India was preparing to build 25 to 20 dams on the rivers given to Pakistan. Although the dams were allowed by the treaty India should act on the spirit of the Treaty and agree to amend the amount of water given by the treaty to India from three Pakistani rivers. The reason was that the water flow in these rivers had decreased.

Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (16 Dec 2010) Jamaat Ali Shah Pakistani’s Indus Waters Commissioner under the Indus Treaty was made OSD by the PM after many years in service once considered meritorious. He was made the commissioner in 1993 and was on the job till 2010 while India changed four commissioners during this period. Zahurul Hasan Dahir of the anti-India lobby said Shah had accepted Indian influence and had allowed Indian dams to be built on rivers belonging to Pakistan.

Reported in Jang (5 Jan 2012), Indus Waters ex-commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah facilitated the building of India’s illegal Nimoo-Bazgo dam so that Leh could get electricity which means that Indian soldiers at Siachen would get the benefit of more comfort through use of electricity.

Quoted in daily Pakistan (4 Jan 2012), former Indus Waters Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah said in Canada that he was surprised by news that he had run away to Canada after violating exit-control orders against him. He said he had come to Canada to look after his ill mother and despite retirement from his job he had informed the concerned authorities before departing Pakistan. He said he was available to answer any charges.

On 23 January 2012, the Ministry of Water and Power and its subordinate institution – the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) – started probing deeper into the alleged involvement of former Indus Water commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah in allegedly “facilitating” Indian authorities to construct the controversial Nimoo-Bazgo hydropower project. FIA swooped down and took control of the office of the Commissioner and began pouring over its files.

Dawn (16 April 2011) reported: ‘Intelligence agencies seized on Friday the record of at least two federal ministries to investigate an alleged institutional lapse of not raising objections over Indian aggression on the country’s water rights and securing international carbon credits on hydropower projects disputed by Pakistan’.

A preliminary report maintained that the former water commissioner did not play his due role and remained silent over the Nimoo-Bazgo hydropower project (built by India during 2002-2009) and did not raise any objections during the Pak-India meetings. But surprisingly, the commission started pursuing the project vigorously at all levels when it was known that it would be impossible to change the design of the project after its completion. The 57-metre-high controversial Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric project is being developed in the Leh district on the Indus River and it is a run-of-the-river power project on the Indus River situated in village Alchi, 70 kilometres from Leh.

Express Tribune (3 January2012) reported: ‘Pakistan is gearing up for yet another legal battle over India’s ‘aggression’ on the country’s water rights and securing international carbon credits on hydropower projects disputed by Pakistan. The latest case under dispute is the construction of the controversial 45-MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydropower project on the Indus River by India, after Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani approved challenging the project in the International Court of Arbitration (ICA)’.

Daily Times (18 July 2012) reported that the federal government had decided not to file a lawsuit in the Permanent Court of Arbitration-International Court of Arbitration (PCA-ICA) in Hague regarding its concerns and grievances over the controversial 45MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydroelectric power project.

Annexure C of the Indus Waters Treaty is about India’s right to divert certain amount of water in certain months from the Western Rivers given to Pakistan. There is also no bar on the building of water storage for electricity production or any other non-consumptive use on Western Rivers (Annexure E). If anyone complains in Pakistan about India building dams and taking some water out of our rivers, he speaks out of ignorance.

Brahma Chellaney in his book Water: Asia’s New Battleground (Harper/Collins 2011) remarks: ‘Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told a national news conference in April 2010 and said: “Is India stealing that water from you? No, it is not. Please do not fool yourself and do not misguide the nation. We are mismanaging that water”. Despite his confession, the Pakistani government has continued to spotlight water as a contentious bilateral matter. One possible reason for its raking up the water issue in recent years is that it helps Pakistan to redirect attention away from India’s focus on cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistani territory as the core concern’ (p.223).

Brahma Chellaney, one of India’s leading strategic thinkers and analysts, is a professor at the Centre for Policy
Research in New Delhi. He has served as a member of the Policy Advisory Group headed by the foreign minister
of India, and as an adviser to India’s National Security Council.

Now you know why we named them TZP — Tehreek e Zalimaan e Pentagon !!!!

Let us make it clear. He was NOT the suicide bomber. He was the handler who never suspected that he could be caught but was trapped by ISI in the subsequent search operation and thus killed in the firefight. Calling a very obvious thing a conspiracy theory is obviously ignorance. Who raised voice against State of Palestine is a Truth disclosed now. This is about People and People of all territory and lands have understand if they kept listening and admitting eventually they will hurt their own self and they will compromise their own future either its name of food or medicine or vaccines or media. There is so much called Obvious and Clear going on. You can not tag all or named as controversy theories.

Media is tool by which countries and people are targeted by so called conspiracy theories even they are so obvious truths to people who want to know the truth before they are victim of the oppression or atrocity of the oppressor.
There is always a truth under the hood when someone admit something and no one knows as the person who admits is always a delusion. This will make you understood how big liar is the media in from many decades and how easily we are invaded with thoughts that this is the truth and reality but there is so much they will never let it disclose but truth eventually have to come one day. Its only to us we admit it or always ignore it and say these are all theories and this killing and oppression is happening as its fate or they deserve or what we can do or what it could or there is nothing to us But eventually and surely The Oppressor has no rule and one day near or far people near or far have to taste the oppression.
So better raise voice before its your own home under the siege or attack or on media.

Sabotaging a Multipurpose Remedy: Kalabagh DAM

Kalabagh Dam

I will say Kalabagh DAM is Heart of Pakistan as it will bring energy to Pakistan. and need of hour is to begin this project Now.

The Kalabagh dam (Urdu: کالا باغ ڈيم‎), is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Indus River at Kalabagh in Mianwali District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. The project has been highly debated and deemed a necessity since its inception. If constructed with 3,800 MW electricity generation capacity, it will become the largest source of electricity for Pakistan.

The Kalabagh dam, is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Indus River at Kalabagh in Mianwali District of the Punjab province in Pakistan. The project has been highly debated and deemed a necessity since its inception.

Dams and Damnation

In December 2004, General Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan, announced that he would build the dam in the larger interest of Pakistan. On May 26, 2008, Federal Minister for Water and Power of Pakistan, Raja Pervez Ashraf, said that the “Kalabagh Dam would not be constructed” and the project has been cancelled.

A very complete report for KB Dam By

Tariq Mian []

Sabotaging a Multipurpose Remedy

Unfortunately, many players of political arena in Pakistan carry the contagious germs of greed, dishonesty, bias and incompetence, hence are unable to play wise when it comes to safeguarding national interests. Such is the dirty politics that becomes an effective tool in the hands of anti-national “manipulative strategists” who love to keep corrupting the fate of developmental projects of the highest national value.
Recent passage of four resolutions by the Sindh provincial assembly denouncing the latest LHC verdict on the stalled KB dam project is thought provoking. It’s also extremely disappointing that some political leaders are using tough tone uttering threats on the life of Pakistan, they say, “Choose between KB dam and Pakistan.” That’s nonsense, indeed.
Most disturbing is the fact that some ‘visionless pigeons in the parliament’ ride the band-wagon to support the ill-designers; thus remain conveniently blindfolded only waiting for their turn to be eaten by the silent killer cat. Although, these pigeons are naive, there is criminal negligence on their part for endangering the whole country.
Converting the non issue into political issue on the basis of assumptions or fabricated pretexts is perhaps part of the game plan.
Nevertheless, this kind of attitude is an open invitation for potential disaster in totality. And, keeping the proposed project in Limbo isn’t in the best national interests; however, it may only satisfy the bloody plotters.
The fact is Pakistan’s ‘lop-sided economy’ faces yet another severe blow to the proposed dam to keep it buried in filing cabinet indefinitely. And the irony is Pakistan doesn’t hesitate when blaming India for building dams.
Sadly, the stakeholders (State/non State) are hell bent to resist the construction of KBD. Politicizing a purely technical/administrative matter shows a clear lack of political will on the part of current/former rulers. It’s crystal clear that avoidance of timely solution is not people friendly.
Consequently, the relevant bodies responsible for the development and regulation of water resources in the country e.g. the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) continue to be distracted; hence a severe loss to the greater national interest.
As reported by various print and electronic media, Kalabagh Dam project is designed to have a live storage capacity of 6.1 million acre feet (MAF), taking care of the capacity loss in reservoirs, it would also make substantial contribution to firming up the irrigation supplies for the projects. This has been originally agreed by the provinces under Water Apportionment Accord (WAA) of 1991. Adding a large amount of cheap hydropower to the National Grid through its 2400 MW (Ultimate 3600 MW) installed power is also included. Also, there would be storage capacity for surplus water in the flood season and it would facilitate the controlled utilization during the “low flow” season. This water would thus be used for agricultural crops from start to the end as needed.
In other words, the irrigation oriented operation of the project will give the highest overall economic return. Furthermore, the dam would eliminate the problem of load shedding forever and will reduce the frequency and severity of flooding. According to NEPRA, current demand is 23,000 MWs while the supply remains at 14,000 MWs, therefore, more hydel and thermal power plants are needed to solve the crisis.
As per WAPDA, the KB dam is designed to:
1- Generate large amounts of low cost hydro electric power near major load centers, and supply the existing grid for meeting the growing power demand of agriculture, industrial and domestic consumers. In addition, it will increase the energy output of the existing Tarbela scheme by permitting the conjunctive operation of the two reservoirs.
2- Provide additional storage on the Indus River, and thus reduce the exiting system shortfalls in irrigation requirements.
3- Provide additional regulation on the river Indus, and thus provide better system control and management for supplying assured, adequate and timely irrigation water for crops.
4- Compensate for the storage loss due to the silting up of exiting reservoirs till such time that their substitutes, (presently planned) are actually available.
5- Eliminate and control the flood peaks in the River Indus so as to minimize flood hazards downstream.
6- Increase Pakistan’s capability to manage its water distribution and power generation systems through the conjunctive operation of Tarbela and KBD reservoirs.
The former Chairman WAPDA Shams ul Mulk says that Kalabagh Dam would benefit every province and that opposition to it is orchestrated by hidden foreign hands. He also says that Kalabagh Dam is not only beneficial to Punjab alone but it will be more helpful in erasing poverty from Khyber Pakhtun Khawa as it would irrigate 800000 acres of cultivable land – located 100-150 feet above the Indus river level. He said this land could only be brought under cultivation if the river level is raised that is only possible if Kalabagh Dam is built.
Some reliable sources suggest: Pakistan’s economy has been facing an annual loss of Rs132 billion due to inordinate delay in execution of Kalabagh Dam (KBD) project.
As the existing dams have already lost 5.3 MAF due to sedimentation, and this loss would be 6.6 MAF by 2016. Therefore, KBD must be built by 2018 to compensate for the loss in storage capacity. Thus, stopping the proposed project would be a grave blunder against the people of Pakistan.
*****The good news is the World Bank is willing to finance the KB dam.
The LHC has simply ordered the Federal government to implement 1991 decision of Council of Common Interest (CCI). In fact, when all the four Chief Ministers agreed in September 1991 to construct the Kalabagh Dam, the CCI prepared documentation for the projects in May 1998.
Moreover, the feasibility of the project was also agreed to by all four provinces in 2004, yet the Sindh assembly is only interested in re-igniting the settled issue of KBD project and has managed to divert the attention of general public away from the terrible law and order situation. But, there is no second opinion on the sincerity of the seasoned politicians and technocrats for national matters

Truth is dams are needed for proper management of river waters to improve economic viability and preserve ecosystem. Completing the KBD Project without delay is in the best interest of the country, as it would ensure affordable electricity for agricultural, industrial and domestic sectors. A fair share of irrigation water to all provinces, effective flood control system and production of cheaper electricity are possible with an unbreakable unity among the people as just Pakistanis with no other label.

My Input:
This was and is need of hour to our government to begin and to understand we need energy and resource to run this country rather wasting the precious time for speeches.
This Project was Physibility Study was done in 1983 so till today its more than 29years past and still we are struggling with it.
And this is the project of the same government who is currently Ruling the country and I do not understand what is the Best internest of this nation even Sindh Province.
People of Pakistan need to realize these leader are of no more use and we need to spread the awareness and better choose those who will stand with you in odd and even of times as well people like us, as long as we will be selecting those landlords and looter of this country we will remain the same. If we need a better Pakistan we need to select those who are like us and who are really honest and without property and bank balance.
If you want to rule the world all we need to rule our homes and people and chose people who are like us. Us means Muslim and very honest.

We are real Muslim and our actions and deeds are our representation not what populated or broadcast by or on media by media owners. We are people of Pakistan and we are nation and we are the people of this world. We are the voice and we are the change. The First step is speaking and sharing and talking about the evil and bad going on. And remember its never too late. We have to begin this from somewhere and this somewhere is our-self and Thats Me for everyone. We need to use our-self for a purpose either spreading awareness and knowledge on all fronts as this is our home and we do not let this happen so easily but we raise our values norms and culture as this is our world and we are the rightful owner of this land. so spread the truth as evil has to die sooner or later and truth has to Rule the world and Light has to spread.
all we need to build our own media. We do not need to look for jobs as a purpose but we need to look for purpose and than a job. people are not joining media people who should bring the change like right in system and bringing the change.

At least speak and those days are not far when we gonna begin all in Islamic perspective or things or use media for TRUTH and awareness and not to live only for business and money and our Purposes will be our life and everything.

This is just a beginning when people are raising the voice. Awareness and speaking our evil is first step and soon we will end this regime of ignorance and begin and help people understand the new era of wisdom and knowledge and help to humanity rather only saying doing nothing. So pray and raise your voice and let other know the Truth and let them speak as one day these voice will touch the sky and these people have to quit and this media have to shut the bad and populate and broadcast good for masses. Purpose is our Truth and purpose is our Life and Faith.

Whats Pakistan Means: There is no God But ALLAH
